Savoury Green Onion Pancake


1 cup plain flour

1 cup cold water

1 egg

2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

1 tsp sesame oil

salt and pepper to taste

1 bunch garlic chives, finely chopped

1 big bunch of spring onions, stems cut off, thinly sliced

extra virgin olive oil, for frying


Dipping Sauce

¼ cup soy sauce

1 garlic clove, grated

¼ cup rice wine vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

¼ cup extra virgin olive oil

½ red capsicum, diced and de-seeded

½ cup spring onion

1 tbsp garlic chives

1 tsp dried chilli

2 tbsp. sesame seeds


Whisk plain flour, water, egg, sesame seeds, sesame oil, salt, pepper until lumps are out. Add spring onions and garlic chives and stir with a wooden spoon. Pour a small amount of olive oil on to pan, then pour in the batter. Cook until brown on each side.

In a small bowl, combine dipping sauce ingredients and serve with pancake.
