Fillo Chocolate and Almond Cigars

1 cup almond meal
½ cup pistachio chopped
1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
½ cup dates, pitted
2 tsp orange blossom water

200g butter, melted for brushing
1 packet fillo pastry, brought to room temperature
¼ cup brown sugar


Preheat the oven to 200°C.

In a food processor, blend the pistachios, almond meal, dark chocolate, dates and orange blossom until smooth and combined.

Brush the fillo sheets with butter, sprinkle some brown sugar and place a spoonful of the mixture rolled into the size of a small finger. Fold the sides of the fillo over the mixture and roll into a cigar shape. Repeat with each sheet of fillo. Brush the cigars with a little more butter and another sprinkle of brown sugar on top.

Place in the oven at 200°C for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with a light dusting of icing sugar.
