Croque Monsieur


150g Swiss cheese, grated

2 slices of swiss cheese

1 egg

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsn Worcestershire Sauce

Pinch of Thyme

100g Thinly Shredded and Smoked Ham Slices

2 thick slices of Homemade-style sourdough bread

100g regular salted Butter

Cayenne Pepper (To Taste)

Salt and Pepper (To taste)


In a bowl, mix together the grated Swiss cheese, Dijon mustard and the yolk of the egg. Sprinkle in some Cayenne Pepper and Thyme. 

Place shredded ham into bowl and work thoroughly into mix. 

Spread the mix with the ham onto one slice of bread. Put two slices of swiss cheese on top and another slice of bread.

Melt butter in frying pan and toast both sides of the sandwich, adding additional butter if needed.
