Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients

 

 

butter for cooking

1 day-old baguette, crusts removed, cut into 1cm slices

5-6 tablespoons Nutella or Nutz choc peanut butter if I can find

2 tbsp caster sugar

5 eggs, lightly beaten

1 cup Bulla cream

1 ½ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla paste

 

Method

 

 

Preheat the oven to 160C.

butter 6 x 150ml-capacity ramekins.

Smear the slices of baguette with the nutella spread. Put a layer of bread in the base of each ramekin, nutella spread side up, overlapping each piece. Sprinkle with a little sugar then top with another layer of bread.

 

Mix together the eggs, cream, milk and vanilla paste. Pour over the bread then set aside for an hour so that the bread soaks up the liquid. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar then bake for 30 minutes or until golden on top.
