Brown Rice Stir Fry Rice with Miso Marinated Steak


  • 200gm sirloin steak

  • marinade

3 tb soy sauce

2 tb rice wine vinegar

1 tb miso paste

1 tbsp ginger, grated

1 tb ginger sliced

5 cloves garlic, chopped

¼ cup olive oil

½ red onion, sliced

3 spring onions, chopped  

1 carrot, sliced

1 cup cabbage, shredded

½ cup yellow capsicum, cut in small pieces  

3 eggs

2 tbsp soy sauce

salt and pepper (optional)

1 cup coriander, chopped

2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

2 cups cooked brown rice


  • Marinate sirloin in mirin, rice wine vinegar, miso paste, ginger grated for 1 hour.

In a large pan on low heat, add oil, garlic, onio, and sweat for a few minutes. Then add carrot, cabbage, capsicum and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Increase heat to med-high. Add spring onion and rice. Stir for 3-4 minutes until rice is hot.

Add egg and stir for 1-2 minutes until egg is cooked. Sprinkle with sesame seed and coriander.

Cook steaks on hot grill pan for a few minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Add seasoning if required.
