Beef and Black Bean Burrito


350g beef, sliced

1 knob garlic

1 knob ginger

1 tbsp. soy

1 tbsp. kecap manis

1 tbsp. cornflour

1 onion, diced

¼ cup black beans, soaked in water to soften

3 tbsp. olive oil

salt and pepper


To serve:

1 packet burrito wraps

½ iceberg lettuce

1 red capsicum, sliced

2 tomatoes, chopped

1 cup grated cheese mozzarella

3 spring onions, chopped

1 bunch coriander, chopped


In a bowl, marinate the meat strips with the kecap manis, soy, grated ginger and garlic.

In a hot pan, heat olive oil and saute the onions. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sear the marinated beef in the pan. Add the black beans to the pan. Using the remainder of the marinade in the bowl, thicken it up with some cornflour and  water. Add this sauce to the pan. Once the meat is cooked set aside.

On a burrito wrap, place some lettuce, tomato, capsicum, spring onion, coriander, cheese and the cooked marinated meat. Wrap it together and serve immediately.
